Grace was born to parents Jack and Mary Baker in Bienfait, Saskatchewan on October 6, 1953. Always a gifted academic, she completed high school at the age of 16 and became a nurse. Grace met the love of her life during university and married Robert (Bob) George Moore on August 31, 1974. They had three children and Grace committed herself solely to raising her children. She was an active member of the PTA, led Brownie and Girl Guide troops and assisted with a variety of school events and fundraisers. Grace said she felt most calm at her sewing machine and used this talent to sew Halloween costumes, clothing for her family and costumes for school plays. She had a larger than average heart, always opening her home to her children’s friends, offering frequent meals and a safe space. She also enjoyed camping and often brought her children’s friends along. Once her children were independent, she further served her community by taking menial jobs cleaning construction sites, tailoring clothing and working at Walmart. Grace and Bob retired to Whelan Bay, Saskatchewan and enjoyed involving themselves in this remote community before she returned to Calgary in recent years to benefit from full-time medical care.
Grace is survived by her husband Bob, her three children; Robert Damon Moore, Trena Marie Abbott, Gary Alan (Becky) Moore and her granddaughters: Lilly Marie Hennecke and Clementine Lee Moore.
The family would like to thank Revera Mckenzie Towne Retirement Home and Rosedale Hospice for their compassionate and dedicated care.
The Graveside Service for Grace will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens, Estevan, Saskatchewan with Pastor Roy Zimmerman officiating. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Estevan Alliance Church following the graveside service.
