Dad was born and raised in Leeds, England. He served in the army and while stationed in Dusseldorf, Germany met his wife Margarete. Together with their two daughters they immigrated to Canada in 1961. Dad had a long career with Canada Safeway as a meat cutter. In his retirement he enjoyed going to the Legion #264 and travelling with his companion, Lillian Esopenko.
Colin is survived by his daughters Shirley Foster and Julie Brandt; granddaughter Kayla Foster-Brandt; his partner and companion, Lillian Esopenko and her son Brian (Anita); as well as numerous nieces and nephews in England, Australia and Canada.
He was predeceased by his wife Margarete; sisters Lily, Jessie and Aggie; and brothers John, Bert and Sidney.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Thursday, January 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
