Carole passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020 at the age of 74 years in the company of her husband and boys. Carole is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 53 years, Ken; her two sons, Brett (Kara) and their children Tyler and Ella; and Kerry (Susan) and their family Jessica, Owen, Drew, Grayson (Taylor), Emma and great-grandson Emerson; as well as her sister Georgia Watkins and many other extended family members. She was predeceased by her mother, Lorraine (1999) and father, Bill (2012).
Carole was born in Saskatchewan on December 12, 1945 and met the love of her life, Ken, in Melfort. Ken and Carole were married on January 28, 1967 and made the move west to Calgary in 1969 to raise their two boys. In 1999, Carole and Ken fulfilled a dream to get out of the city when they moved to their acreage near Priddis Creek to enjoy the more relaxed setting of the Alberta foothills.
Carole was a selfless and kindhearted woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Family meant everything to her and she was happiest when surrounded by her boys and their families, often just sitting back and watching with a beaming smile as her beloved family interacted around her. An eternal optimist, she always looked for the good in people. Her caring and generous nature touched the lives of so many people far beyond her immediate and extended family, and she will be sadly missed by all the friends she made in Saskatchewan, Calgary and Priddis.
Options for a service are being explored as a result of the need and/or desire for family and friends to travel to celebrate Carole’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Carole’s memory directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
