It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Rose Tenor on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Foothills Medical Centre at the age of 48 years. She is survived by her parents, Bill and Rose Tenor; brothers Brian and Darren (Katharine); sister Alexandra and nieces Victoria, Arianna and Natasha.
Brenda was born at the Calgary General Hospital and attended Christine Meikle and Emily Folensbee Schools before residing at Graduated Supports (formerly Baker Centre). She appreciated the loving kindness and dedication of the caregivers, many of whom had a long-lasting relationship with her.
Although Brenda was handicapped from birth, she was a happy individual and enjoyed visiting with family and friends, attending day programs, shopping, volunteering at Walk or Run Fundraisers, bowling, exercise classes, crafts and other activities. She was non-verbal, but enjoyed social interaction. Brenda usually had a smile on her face and saw the humor as others related a joke or story. She will be deeply missed by her family, caregivers and friends.
A Celebration of Brenda’s Life will be held at Graduated Supports, 200 Scenic Bow Place NW, Calgary on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Brenda always enjoyed wearing a hat and so in her memory the family will be wearing hats and invite others to as well.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Scenic Bow Association for the Multiply Handicapped, 535 – 37th Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 3C1.
Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family in the Guest Book section found adjacent to this biography.
