Mary Alma Alberta Peterson born July 14th, 1917, passed away on June 15, 2019 at the age of 101 yrs. Alma was born at Sibbald, Alberta to pioneer parents, Milton and Olive (nee Young) Trussler, the second in a family of five. Alma grew up on the family farm and attended schools in the area, moving later with the family to the Pine Lake and Red Deer areas. Alma attended the Calgary Normal School and taught in schools in the Red Deer area and later in Calgary. She met Harry Theodore Peterson at Summer school and they were married on August 4, 1943. They made Calgary their home.
In their 52 years together Alma and Harry enjoyed many activities including dancing, skiing, camping and traveling. They were long time members of the Second 60’s Club and the Gliders Club at Confederation Park.
Alma was predeceased by her loving husband in 1996 and by two sisters; Eileen and Norma, and two brothers; Mac and Murry. She is survived by her children Brian Peterson (Aleta) and Lorna Kowalski (Ernie), her four grand-children; Loree, Cindie, Dallas and Amber, and their children. Alma has requested a private family service.
