William Robert Kitzsteiner

William Robert Kitzsteiner, age 78, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December, 11 2024. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruth Kitzsteiner. He will be remembered by his wife, Jean Kitzsteiner; children Todd Kitzsteiner (Jennifer), Ryan Kitzsteiner, and Amy Bassett (Richard); two grandchildren Benjamin and Eleanor; sisters Kristen Haas (Erwin) and Sara Kitzsteiner (Mark Kennedy); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bill grew up in Grand Rapids and went to Godwin High School where he was a member of the chess club. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1969. In his professional life, Bill worked at GE Aerospace (formerly Smith’s Industries and Leer Siegler) for nearly 34 years.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman and contributed his time volunteering as a Boy Scout leader for his two sons. He shared his love of hiking, camping, and canoeing with his family and friends. He also spent time as a licensed pilot and enjoyed exploring the skies.
