Cornie Leroy Brummel, age 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Cornie was a well-spoken and steadfast man who loved his family deeply and cherished time spent with them. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature, in the garden, and doing yard work. He spent many wonderful years traveling, camping, fishing, hiking, and biking around the country with Edie. Cornie loved his faith and served faithfully in his church. He will be deeply missed.
Cornie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edie Brummel; children Pam (Jeff) Lubbers, Chad Brummel, Lynn (Brad) Kuiper, Cortney Brummel; grandchildren Chase (Alyssa) Lubbers, Grant (Danielle) Lubbers, Andrew (Kiera) Lubbers, Samuel (Alexis) Lubbers, Cody (Paige) Brummel, Shannon Brummel, Theresa Brummel, Mackenzie (Chad) Solanyk, Lindsey (Grant) Kamps, Taylor (Nick) DeVries, Cassidy Kuiper, Case Kuiper; six great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. Cornie is preceded in death by his parents John and Nellie Brummel.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Cook Funeral Home (Byron Center Chapel), 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 at Byron Center Protestant Reformed Church, 1946 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315.
