Tommy was born to Denis and Peggy Decker on October 27th, 1953, and grew up in Menard, Texas. He graduated from Menard High School and played football for the University of Texas. He began his career with Glastron Boats, which ignited his passion for all things boating. He went on to work at Hurst Harbor Marina for over 20 years, and for the past 17 years he was the Vice President of Operations for Island Global Yachting.
Tommy was a kind, loving, caring man who would give the shirt off his back for his family and friends. He was known for his big personality, hilarious jokes, and ability to tell a great story. He adored his animals, who were like his babies. He will be missed by so many people, and his death has left a hole in the hearts of those that were closest to him.
He leaves behind his beloved spouse of 28 years, horse riding partner, and best friend, Jackie Decker, his niece Tracy Swantner and husband Craig, nephew Thomas Decker and wife Emily, niece Ashley Lovelace, great nieces Brooklynn and McKinzie, and great nephews Corbin, Grayson, and Brayden. He is also survived by many other family members, loved ones, and close friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his brother Charlie, mother, father, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws.
Tommy’s family will be hosting a celebration of life in the future per his wishes.
