When I met Rick we became fast friends. Enjoyed his and Yoli’s company at bbq contest and our watching Texas football through text messages. His love of life and compassion was incredible. Always had a kind word for all. 

I loved him like he was my own dad and he treated me like I was his own son 

Yolie, Rubye and Lea Ann,    Nancy & I were shocked to hear of Rick's passing.  We had many good times together even though we are many miles apart.  We always enjoyed talking music with Rick and enjoyed the times he took us out when we came to Texas.  We are glad that we stopped to see you all a couple of years ago.  Rick was always so gracious as all of you also.  We had lots of conversation when visiting and we always enjoyed that.  We are blessed to have been in contact with Rick over the years I helped with his Grandmother Hazel.  She loved him so much also and always talked about Rick and Lea Ann.  She was always very proud of her grandchildren.  We will have many good memories of Rick to hold on to.  Praying for all the family that time will heal and know that we love you all and hope to see you all in the next year or so.  God Bless you all.

Rick's passing is a total shock, never heard if he was ill or anything. I met Rick through the Falcon Car Club, he was one of the guys that just made you feel like you belong. Always had a smile and caring attitude. He led the club on a couple of cruises around the Burnet area, always going slow enough as to not loose anyone in the line of cars. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones, may God be with you.  Rick, rest in peace brother.

He was my brother, my friend, the honest music critic I needed...He was always in my corner and not a day went by that I didn’t know that. I feel so lucky to have known and had him in my life.

Dearest Yolie, my sweet "comadre,"

 I cannot imagine the loss of your life partner, your handsome Rick.  You two exemplified a loving couple to all of us, and he was such a supportive and delightful man, and the world is less for his departure.

I regret missing seeing you guys these past few years, and I look forward to seeing you again in the near future...I am so sorry, sweet lady, so sorry for you, your family, Rick's friends and co-workers.

I am sure Tracy sang his way into heaven!

Rick has always been a straightforward kinda guy that was never afraid of telling you what he thought. My first encounter with him was as my supervisor where I would always have to practice my case presentations at my desk before going into his office. Just when I thought I covered all aspects that I believe Rick would want answers to, he ended up asking a question that I wasn’t prepared for. We would always laugh at how much he could frustrate me causing me to go above and beyond to get him his answers. Eventually, our friendship grew when we would eat out for lunch and connected through our love of music and travel. As I write this I can’t help, but get teary eyed thinking about him. He was truly a great man with an immense passion for life and I believe he lived it to the fullest.

I am so sorry for your loss and am  thinking about you at this difficult time.

I always carry a picture in my heart of Rick and Yoli dancing with delight to the Texana Dames. As an honorary “Comadre”, Rick contributed  lots of love, strength, and grounding to the group. The light of y’all’s love illuminated every space and heart you occupied! My sorrow at losing such a solid example of a Good Man pales in comparison with what his sweet wife and family must be going through. May my prayers of comfort accompany you on this grievous journey. I’ll miss his steady presence. I love you Yoli!

I have known Yoli since 1989. Always very sweet and caring. My heart goes out to her. I never had the pleasure of meeting her husband, but I’m sure he was a wonderful man to such a wonderful awesome woman.   our love and condolences to Yoli and family. Love you Yoli if you need anything I’m just a phone call away. 

My favorite memory of Rick is from when I was just starting to know him. He came over to my cubicle, upset about something I did or didn't do. I didn't know him very well yet and he started talking to me really fast and loud. I raised my voice, then he raised his more. He asked, "why are you yelling at me?!" And I told him, "because you're yelling at me!" Then he screamed, "I'm not yelling!" Then I screamed, "I'm not yelling either!" We couldn't help but start laughing at how ridiculous we were being. And that's what many of us loved about him. We could get angry but we could easily move on. We will definitely miss seeing and hearing him every day.
