Luis Dante Caprarella, age 93, of Liberty Hill, Texas passed away on March 2, 2017. He was born on January 27, 1924 in Buenos Aires, Argentina of Italian parents who had immigrated there after WWI. He was one of eight children and enjoyed playing soccer.
After serving his required term in the Argentine Armed Forces, he met his bride at a Tango Club in 1945. They fell in love with the dance & with each other and married in 1950. After seven years of marriage Luis, his wife Dee & their daughter immigrated to the United States and made New York their home in 1957.
Luis worked for the headquarters of K-Mart Corp, for 40 years, as a Distribution Analyst and Dept. Head, forecasting & budgeting for over 600 stores nationwide. Luis & Dee worked hard and were successful in achieving the American Dream. Opportunities continued to knock on their door and in 1985 the family moved west to Orange County, California where they lived for 21 years.
Luis survived multiple bouts of cancer late in life as well as congestive heart failure. In 2003, a massive stroke took his bride of 53 years and Luis, together with his daughter & son-in-law, moved to Liberty Hill, TX three years later to settle into country living in their retirement years.
He is survived by his daughter, Cookie Mills Beck, his son-in-law Charles Beck, dozens of nieces and nephews and countless friends he made in his 93 years of life.
Visitation & a service to celebrate his life will be held at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet, Texas, and a light lunch and refreshments will be served at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home at 306 East Polk St., Burnet, TX 78611 (512) 756-222 immediately following the graveside service.
