Yvonne Yee Man Wei, age 64, passed away at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia on March 17, 2023. She was born on April 1st, 1958 in Kowloon, Hong Kong. She attended Heep Yunn Secondary School in Hong Kong and graduated at Nelson McIntryre Collegiate, Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. She then continued her post-secondary education at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Manitoba, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. She started her career as a teacher, then immigrated to Sydney, Australia a few years later and visited her family in Vancouver on occasion.
Pre-deceased by her father Frank, while her mother Jeanette passed away 10 days after her, Yvonne is survived by her brothers Michael (Vicki) and Victor (Terry Kornutiak) of North Vancouver, Canada, her sister Elaine (Stanley Yeung) of Hong Kong, and her niece Nicole and nephew Brandon of Vancouver, Canada.
In 1973, Yvonne was baptized at Kowloon City Baptist Church where she has accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and has been following His teaching ever since.Yvonne was intuitive as well as a devoted Christian who loved her Heavenly Father and remained true as His good and Faithful servant. She loved participating in several Bible Study groups.
Yvonne enjoyed her daily, quiet walks from her home on Aspley Road and also in Ashfield to the local libraries where she loved to read as well as her strolls along Maroubra Beach where she would reminisce her fond memories in Hong Kong and Winnipeg.
Although there were some challenges after immigrating to Sydney, Jesus guided her by providing with many good friends such as John and Daisy, who have similar interests and share their love of the Lord Jesus Christ. They provided support and encouragement to each other unconditionally and constantly.
Yvonne was kind and gentle to everyone she met and offered her help to anyone in need everywhere she went. Jesus Christ was the centre of her life and she took every opportunity to spread the Gospel to her neighbours. She loved listening to the piano pieces by Hagood Hardy, especially ‘The Homecoming/Jennifer’s Song’. Yvonne enjoyed tasty cuisines, especially Dim Sum.
She has visited Vancouver on several occasions and in one of her visits in 2010, she expressed that her favourite place to live is in Vancouver and she has very much missed her family and friends in Vancouver and Winnipeg. She loves nature, fresh air and the warm hearts of Canadians.
She celebrated her 60th Birthday with her older brother Michael in 2018, it was one of her happiest times spent touring around Sydney, tasting different cuisine and visiting attractions in and around Sydney.

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love”
Yvonne will be deeply missed and remembered by all her family and friends in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Hong Kong and Sydney.
