Tom was born in Vancouver and grew- up on his Dad's Homestead with his brother John in Roberts Creek. He started his career working in logging and later changed to Blow-pipe work in the Saw Mills. He met Lois on a blind date and they married April 24, 1943. They bought a house in Burnaby and settled down to raise a family. In 1959 Dad decided to start Harrison Sheet Metal Ltd., he was very successful in this venture and gained the respect of his employees and customers for being a fair man and a person of his word. During this time he became an active member of SMACNA and for a period sat on the Board of Directors. He was a 50 year plus member of the Keystone Lodge and a Past Grand Master. Dad loved hunting and fishing (especially Salmon fishing), this led to Mom and Dad purchasing a waterfront house on Gabriola Island. There were many happy years spent with family and friends at the Silva Bay location. With retirement approaching, Dad decided that a small Hobby Farm on Gabriola might be a good idea to keep him active. He was on his farm with his cat (Rosie) and his dog (Jackson) until the end. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Lois in 2004 and is survived by son Gerry (Patti), daughters Lynda (Neale), Donna, Susan (Keith) 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Funeral and Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby at 1:00, Saturday, July 27, 2013.
