It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rudy Wong Lee. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by Roberta, his wife of 58 years, his son Oswald; daughters Karren (Michael); Stephanie (Richard) and five grandchildren, Spencer, Lyndsey, Mitchell, Marcus and Mackenzie.
Rudy was born June 11, 1934 in San Juan, Rizal, Philippines to a family of eight children including; Roland (deceased), Aurora, Manuel, Jane, Julie, Jimmy and Lenny; all whom he is deeply close to. He grew up enjoying playing basketball and going bowling with his many friends, eventually attending Adamson University, Manila, graduating with a degree in chemistry.
Rudy met the love of his life Roberta in 1954, marrying 7 years later. He was a proud member of St. Peter's Church, Manila, Philippines where he was also baptized and married. In 1974, he moved his wife and children to Canada, eventually choosing to settle in Vancouver, British Columbia. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, in an effort to give them opportunities for a better life.
Rudy took pride in being a grandfather; attending numerous performances big or small and sporting events over the years being their biggest fan. He also took pleasure in being Gong Gong, the on call Uber driver who was always available and ready to help. He was a kind, caring, generous and thoughtful man, always wearing a smile and wanting to connect with others. He valued family and friendships above all else, bringing his joy and sense of humor to all those he met.
He will be remembered and missed by many. May you rest in peace knowing that you are forever loved by your family and friends.
