It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and nonna, Rosina, who left us peacefully on Tuesday April 8th, 2025 at Mountain View Manor in Delta B.C. Rosina was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Franco, her siblings Giovanni and Maria and her eldest son Girolamo. Left to mourn are her children Geni (Pasquale), Rina (Dusan) Joe (Laura), daughter-in-law Karen, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, as well as her sister in law Pina, siblings Carlo, Antonio and Paola and families in Italy.
Rosina was a loving and vibrant person who was devoted and endlessly affectionate to her family. She made friends easily and enriched their lives, welcoming all with open arms, a loving heart and a generous spirit. Her loss will be most profoundly felt by her grandchildren who spent countless hours at nonno and nonna’s house being cherished and spoiled as only they could do.
Rosina’s family would like to extend a special gesture of thanks to the staff of Mountain View Manor and that of Kin Village whose kindness, compassion and care, these last three years, have enriched Rosina’s life immensely. Charitable donations may be made to Delta Hospital foundation.
“Post Humus”
By Patti Tana
“Scatter my ashes in my garden
So, I can be near my loves
Say a few honest words, sing a gentle song
join in a circle of flesh
Please tell some stories about me
making you laugh, I love to make you laugh
When I’ve had time to settle, and green
gathers into buds, remember I love blossoms bursting in Spring.
As the season ripens remember my persistent passion.
And if you come into my garden on an August afternoon
pluck a bright red globe let juice run down your chin and the seeds
stick to your cheek.
When I’m dead I want folks to smile and to say:
“That Rosina; She Sure Is Some Tomato!”
