Tita Cheding as we call our dear aunt, my mom’s sister, who loves to cook that everytime she comes home to the Philippines for a vacation, she would cook some special dishes and I always watched her cook from preparation to the finish product. She taught me how to cook lasagna and garlic buttered crabs four decades ago and I still remember her recipe to this day.   Had colored/dyed her hair once when she was in town and she gave me CAD20.00 for my service.  Before I retired from work, I so wanted to visit Tita Cheding. I mentioned this desire of mine to one of my clients. My client referred to me his travel agent and I was so very happy to be granted a tourist visa by the Canadian Embassy (cousin Jun Moreno helped me as well with the documentary requirements). So I did flew to Canada to visit her in 2016. It was a fun reunion (and nervous experience as well when she was hospitalized). She was a wonderful aunt. Her smile is so enlightening.  She never really grew old. Oh she always keeps her lipstick and face powder by her side. I will miss hearing her mention my name whether in person or thru phone in her tone my relatives and I very well know. I know she lived a full life, with so much fun, love and happiness around her. She will now be reunited with Tito Peping, Lolo Tatay, Lola Nanay, my mom and papa, and her other siblings who had passed. Rest in Peace, my dearest Tita Cheding. I will visit you again when I get my visa to heaven. I love you!
