She was greeted by her Father, George, Mother, Rusila and her brother Jackson. She is survived by daughter, Pauline (Jason) and two granddaughters whom she treasured with all her heart, Jayleen and Rusila. Lin is also survived by her Siblings, Irene (Charlie), Dixon (Susan), John (Nazreen) and Keith (Ellen); nieces, Deborah (Damien) and their two children (Jet and Kiana), Vanessa, Monika and Valerie; nephews Felix, Sebastian (Sandra) and their three children (Cameron, Olivia and Mason), Mitchell and Steven. She loved and treasured all her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She will be missed by all of her aunts, uncles, cousins and the many loved ones from around the world.
Lin was born in Lautoka, Fiji on September 26, 1956. She received her education at St. Mary’s Elementary School in Nadi and Loreto Girl’s school in Levuka before coming to Canada in 1976. Once here in Canada she began work at Canadian Linen where she made close friends she considered like family.
It was rare to see Lin without a smile and it will be hard to forget her laugh. She was easy to talk to and treated everyone like they were lifelong friends. She was known around her apartment building as the friendly laundry lady, with her little blue buggy. With her sudden passing it was evident how easily she made friends and connections on a deeper level with her neighbours and people within her community.
Lin was looking forward to retirement this year and was hoping to be able to join her “partners in crime” for their usual gallivanting to the local flashing lights. She will be deeply missed and these adventures just won’t be the same.
Due to Covid there will be a private viewing. Burial details can be obtained by emailing [email protected]
You left us far too early
We wish you could’ve stayed
We’d give anything to have you here
Even if for one more day
Your love will stay with us for a lifetime
And you’ll forever be in our hearts
We know you’ll be watching over us
Until we no longer have to be apart.
