Maria de Lurdes Pereira

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Sister, Maria de Lurdes Pereira. Born on May 30th 1938, in São Jorge da Beira, Portugal. Maria de Lurdes passed peacefully on November 9, 2024. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her and is remembered for her positivity, kindness and smile that she shared with everyone she met.

Maria de Lurdes is survived by her loving family, Daughters Anna (Antonio) and Elizabeth (Carlos) Grandchildren, Larissa (Michael) Matthew, Vanessa (Steven) and Vicente. She is also survived by her dear sister Piedade Batista Branco (Hermino) and many nephews and nieces. Maria de Lurdes was pre-deceased by her loving husband Alfredo Branco Pereira, her parents Alfredo and Emilia Covita, her brother Antonio Covita (Maria de Jesus), Sister Emilia Covita Pereira (Joaquim) and brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s Antonio Monteiro (Irene), Francisco Branco (Maria dos Anjos)

A visitation will take place at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel 4276 Hastings St. on Tuesday, November 19th from 7pm-8pm. The Rosary prayers and Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday November 20that Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish 1423 East 13th Ave. Vancouver. The Rosary prayer to commence at 10am followed with the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am
