It is with great sadness to announce that Lily passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospice on January 14, 2021. She is survived by her beloved husband Dick, children Teri, Tami (Marc) and grandchildren Jack, Soraya and Talia, her sister Violet (Leonard) as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Lily was born in Vancouver to Chan Poy Tin and Chan Go See. She was a strong and courageous woman who successfully balanced her commitments to work, hobbies, husband, motherhood, friendships and extended family. Lily was proud to be part of the Canadian-Chinese Community and valued the friendships that developed over a lifetime. Skilled in bookkeeping and office management, Lily was a valued employee at the many jobs she held throughout her career including Ray Bilt Contractors, Alaska Pine and Robinson Lighting. A passion for travel, her desire to explore the world brought her and Dick to many unusual and exotic destinations. A talented seamstress, she created fashion for both herself and her children.
Lily will be lovingly remembered as a respected, hard working and passionate woman who was dedicated to helping others.
Our family would like to acknowledge and thank the teams at Fairhaven, Burnaby General and St Michael’s for their dedicated care.
