Lillian Yuet Wah Wong was born to Wong Chi Pang and Kwok Kam Yuk on Oct 15, 1938 at Kowloon Hospital, Hong Kong. She was the oldest of 12 children. Her heritage in the Lord began with her grandparents. Having received the Lord at an early age, she was baptized at about 17. She studied at Pooi To Middle School and High School, and graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University in 1964, majoring in psychology and social work. Lillian worked as a social worker immediately after graduation.
Lillian met William in 1965. After three years of courtship, they married at Kowloon Tong Alliance Church on March 9, 1968. They began their family the year after and had two sons, Joseph and Danny. She then decided to be a full-time homemaker to raise her children. Her love for the Lord was evident as she would read Bible stories to her children before bed, and for years conducted weekly family Bible study meetings. She planted the seed of faith in her children and instilled in them a love for the Lord from a young age.
For many years, Lillian served as a treasurer, pianist, choir music director and deaconess at Kowloon City Swatow Christian Church. She also taught in the Sunday school.
In April 1992 Lillian immigrated to Canada. This was when she touched the church life and began to meet with the church in Vancouver. She continued to faithfully serve the church in various capacities over the years.
Lillian loved to sing and was a member of the Vancouver Oratorio Society for two decades. She also enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family.
On November 22, 2016 she rested from her labour and went to be with the Lord, Whom she loved during her whole sojourn on earth. She is survived by her husband, two sons, and six grandchildren, all of whom she loved very dearly and they loved her.
