Eileen was kind…
There was always time for her family, most notably for her nephew Kai. She was not a soccer player. But for Kai, she was a pro. Backyard soccer was her gift of kindness to him.
Eileen was patient…
When playmates, Ah Ma, Ma Ma, Pa Pa and Ku Ku would fatigue from play, play and more play, Eileen Ee Ee patiently continued playing, playing and playing until it was Kai that could continue no more.
Eileen was a fighter…
Eileen was given a year; she took two and a half. She loved a good fight and succumbing to Cancer was not an option. When we were told of her condition, our hearts sank, while her response was, ‘that’s okay.’ She then continued to live her life – fully and the way she wanted – on her terms.
Eileen was wise…
She quietly contemplated. When she spoke, her words were profound, thoughtful and more often than not, a bit cheeky. When she was questioned about ‘normality,’ her only response was, ‘what is normal?’
She wrote – oh yes, she wrote – sentence after sentence, page after page, notebook after notebook. The words not spoken were put to paper, words that colored her pages and painted her thoughts.
Eileen lived life on her terms…with kindness, patience, fortitude and wisdom…
Thank you, Eileen for your time, your thoughts and for teaching us things that the world could not. We love you and our hearts are whole because of you.
A request for those paying their respects. Paper and pens will be provided during her viewing. Please write Eileen a note, a thought, a prayer and place it with her.
