Audrey Smith (nee Carter)

February 26, 1929 – August 11, 2024

It is with much love and sadness to her family and friends that Audrey passed away at the remarkable age of 95 years. Audrey is survived by sons: David (Janice) & Stephen (Linda); grandchildren: Christopher (Melisa) & Danielle (Jordy); great-grandchildren: Sophie, Thalia & Spencer; brothers: Fred (Anita) & John; sister-in-law: Michele (Paul); and many nephews & nieces, with special thanks to Julie. She was also Great Grandma Audrey to Anna, Henry & Isla. Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald; parents: Fred & Edith; sisters: Jean & Doris, and brothers: Michael & Tony.

She came from England to Vancouver in 1957. Audrey lived in Vancouver, Burnaby, Abbotsford & lastly, Maple Ridge. Not only did Audrey work throughout her life, she was an accomplished quilter and gardener, as well as a brilliant knitter for family, friends and charities. Audrey loved her family and friends. She took great delight in hosting the traditional Boxing Day gatherings for Ron’s birthday. Audrey will be sorely missed.

A memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held on Wednesday, August 28th at 1:00: Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. If you wish to make a charitable donation in Audrey’s name, please consider Diabetes Canada.
