Antonio Di Lorenzo was born in Valenzano, Italy on January 12 1932. Antonio Di Lorenzo fondly remembered as Zio Tonino, passed suddenly on June 22 2020 at the age of 88.
Zio was born to Ferdinando and Caterina Di Lorenzo in Valenzano, Italy and grew up in challenging times during World War II alongside 3 sisters and 3 brothers. In 1955 Antonio immigrated to Venezuela, living there until making the decision to join his parents, brothers and sisters in Vancouver in 1979.
Antonio was a very hard worker, working two jobs to establish himself in Canada. Antonio loved family gatherings, music and socializing with friends at the coffee bar on Commercial Drive. Antonio, loved reminiscing of the time he lived in Venezuela and in his final years he enjoyed the authentic Italian food made by his sister-in law, Nicoletta and good wine made by his brother Guglielmo. We will remember your infectious laughter, big smile and black bow tie.
