Tim Wozencraft, 65, of College Station, Texas, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, January 15, 2022. He was born December 28, 1956 to Alvin P. and Mattie Lou Wozencraft in Merkel, Texas.
After graduating from Merkel High School in 1975, he worked in the oil field industry in west Texas until he moved to Bryan in 1977. He later worked for MHMR of the Brazos Valley for 15 years serving as a drug and alcohol substance abuse counselor on the ACT team, but his love for travel and working in the oil fields inspired him to start his dream hot shot trucking business. He started Woozy’s Hot Shot, LLC in 2002 and was an independent owner/operator until his death.
Tim met his best friend and soulmate, Lynell A. Divin from College Station, as a member of the New Hope Group. The two joined their six children into the Woozy bunch while riding on horseback near the Brazos River in 1992, and lived, laughed, and loved for almost 30 years.
As a member of the New Hope Group, Tim sponsored and helped many in the Brazos Valley and beyond for over 35 years. He was an honest, faithful, and caring husband, father, brother, and friend who dedicated himself to others. He had a passion for working with his hands and sharing his story to help others. People will always remember his roaring laughter, big smile and even bigger heart. He was a character! He enjoyed watching his grandkids’ sporting and extra-curricular events, the Dallas Cowboys, and fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Lynell Wozencraft of College Station; sons, David Isaac Wozencraft and wife Shawna of Woodville, Adam Wozencraft of Denton, Shane Walker and Sarah of College Station, and Marcus Walker and wife Christy of Bryan; daughters, Shawna Wozencraft Mutz of Laredo, and Angela and husband Steve Catlin of Bryan; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Terry Armstrong of Merkel; brother-in-law, Mike Divin of Iola; niece, Meredith Burke and husband Ross of Frisco; nephews, Timothy Armstrong of Dallas, and Jake Divin of College Station; and many extended family and friends too numerous to name – you know who you are.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Don Armstrong and Jim Divin.
