Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Peggy was born October 10, 1932 in Houston the daughter of William Louis and Beatrice (Otto) Kring. She graduated from Reagan High School (‘50) in Houston and Sam Houston State University (’54) in Huntsville. She began her teaching career in Houston and taught 21 years for Houston ISD. Peggy and Bob moved to Bryan in 1975 where Peggy began teaching at Stephen F. Austin Jr. High, and later becoming the Senior Counselor at Bryan High School until her retirement in 1992. After retirement from education Peggy worked in the private banking sector.
Peggy was a proud member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She was a member of the American Legion Earl Graham Post 159 and the V.F.W. Post 4692 Ladies Auxiliary.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Neil White; and a sister, Julia Louise Bierwirth.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Neil and Belinda White; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia Jo and Steve Asiatico, Nancy Elizabeth and Allen Housley; sisters, Billie Jane (Patty) Hall and Myrtle Elizabeth (Betty) Coffer; grandchildren, Robert Eric White and wife Karessa, Lindsay Erin White, Neil Laurence Asiatico, Jared Andrew Housley and William Mason Housley; great-grandchildren, Tyler Joseph Reach and Robert Eli White; and numerous nieces and nephews.
