Our beloved mother Gloria Perez Martinez of Spring,Texas sadly passed away on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at the age of 89 years old. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loved ones. Our mom was born in Maysfield TX on November 17, 1934. She loved her children unconditionally, especially her grandchildren(who could do no wrong). She loved to tell her grandchildren stories about when she was a little girl. We could tell that she had a very special place in her heart for her uncle Ray.
Our mom was selfless when it came to not only her family, but also her friends by being a beacon of light in times of need. She embodied what it meant to be a humble soul and lived with simplicity by spending her life surrounded with fleeting memories that were full of laughter and love. She was a very strong lady who was always busy doing something. Whether it be cleaning the house, cutting the grass, working at the restaurant and coming home to cook dinner for her children. Our mother enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the Casinos. The one thing we will all miss is her homemade dressing at Thanksgiving because everyone thought hers was the best.
She is preceded in death by her husband Felix Martinez Jr., her two sons Louis and Martin Martinez, her father Francisco Perez, her mother Maria Louisa Alfaro Sanchez and her step father Severiano Sanchez, and her grandmother Francisca Alfaro.
Gloria is survived by her son Felix Martinez III, her daughter Yolanda Ramirez & husband Arthur, her son Ray Martinez, her daughter Sylvia Contreras & husband Johnny, her daughter Gloria Portales, and her son Ricky Martinez. Her grandchildren Arthur III & wife Flo, Sonia & husband Michael, Amanda & husband Javaughn, Sylvia and husband Armando, Alex and wife Lupe, Roger & wife Nisha, Felicia, Mark, Robert & wife Kristin ,Thomas & wife Christine, and Ciara.
Her great grandchildren Brandon, Alyssa, Abigail, Sophia, Ace, Alani, Karter, Erica & husband Sonny, Jessica, Celeste, Armando & wife Kyleigh, Ava, Violet, Navy, Silas, Ayden, Jarwone, Davone, Jonathan, Mariah, Sonnie, Mia, Makayla, Robert III, Kaiden, Savannah, Caleb, and Yanna Grace.
