Gay Lyn Glover, 69, of Bryan, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 29, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones and leaving behind cherished memories that will forever warm our hearts.
Gay was born on March 20, 1954, in Midland, TX to father, Howard Lee Liner, and mother, Hazel Victoria (Smith). She grew up in a big family where she developed the qualities that would define her life: compassion, resilience, and an unwavering love of her family. These traits would later become her legacy.
Gay married the love of her life, Jessie Monroe “Monty” Glover, on April 13, 1972. They were married for 41 years before his passing, and they were blessed with one child together. She was a devoted mother to her daughter and son-in-law, and “Nana” to her grandchildren. Her love for them was boundless, and she offered unwavering support, encouragement, and a listening ear through every triumph and trial faced. Her nurturing spirit and the strength of her love will continue to inspire and guide them.
Gay was also known for her kindness and generosity to others. She had a big heart and was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. Her acts of compassion touched countless lives, and her legacy will live on through the lives she has impacted.
Gay was a beacon of love and strength for her family, and her memory will forever be cherished. Her legacy of love, kindness and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us in the physical sense, her spirit and influence will remain with us forever.
Gay is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Andy Large, of Katy, TX, her three grandchildren, Alyssa, Logan, and Bethany and two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Charanza of Deanville, TX and Melba Nall of Lexington, TX along with many adored nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind a wide circle of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monty, her parents, Howard and Hazel, her siblings, Billy Robert Liner, James Liner, Linda May Liner and Twellia Liner Moore, and brothers-in-law, James Wayne Glover and Willie Charanza.
A funeral service will be held for Gay on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 S College Ave., Bryan, TX 77801. Visitation will be at 10:00am followed by a service at 11:00am. Interment will be at Bryan City Cemetery.
