Carol Yvonne Wiederhold

Carol Yvonne Wiederhold, 78 of Bryan, TX passed away at her residence on May 31, 2023. Carol was born in Pasadena, TX on January 4, 1945 to Estelle Ruby and Homer Felix Hibler. Their family moved to Dimebox, TX within her first year of life. She was Salutatorian of the class of 1963 at Dimebox High School. Carol married Gilbert Gus Wiederhold at the Dimebox Brethren Church on November 20th, 1965.

They had two children together, Russell Scott Wiederhold and Tammy Renee Wiederhold-Johnston. Carol was the proud Nana of six grandchildren: Courtney Ashton Wiederhold, Cameron Scott Wiederhold, Avery Anton Johnston, Ethan Gilbert Johnston, Vivian Elizabeth Johnston, and Lauren Caroline Johnston.

Carol previously worked as a Financial Secretary from 1963-1994, only taking a break to raise their children. Carol loved to travel after her and Gilbert got married. They went to every state, visiting some multiple times. She even visited Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. Building memories with her family every mile of the way was always important to her.

She became a Christian early in life, and was passionate about spreading the word of God. She loved teaching Sunday School at church throughout her life. Carol started out teaching the youth group and the college and career at Calvary Baptist Church, then the Senior Ladies Adult Class at Hillcrest Baptist Church, and continued till her late sixties with the Adult Single’s Class at Christ’s Way Baptist Church. She had a giving spirit, compassion, and the ability to make everyone feel loved.

Carol is survived by her husband, Gilbert, her two children, son-in-law, six grandchildren, sister-in-law, numerous nephews, niece and cousins. She is preceded in death by her dad, Homer Felix Hibler; her mom, Estelle Ruby Womack-Hibler; and brother, Homer Kenneth Hibler.

Memorial services will be held at Christ’s Way Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 6th 2023 at 10:30 am 3885 Copperfield Drive, Bryan, TX 77802
