Mr. Terrell was the son of the late Phillip Preston and Bertha Norine Terrell. He was the loving husband for sixty three years to his wife Faye Love Terrell. He also served his country honorably in the United States Army. After being discharged from the service, he retired from CSX Railroad as a machinist with forty two years of employment. Then after his retirement, he moved from Waycross, Georgia to Townsend, Georgia. He then became the president of the local Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge # 192 in Waycross, but had attended the Live Oak Masonic Lodge # 137 in Darien for the past several years. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Darien, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, Georgia on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 5-7:00 PM. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Huling and Reverend William “Bill” Brown officiating. Mrs. Stephanie Yawn will give a warm heartfelt eulogy. The interment will follow the service in the Poppell Gardner Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers serving will be Franklin Beecher, Todd Faircloth Steven Yawn, Cord Boyette, Robert Parker, Glenn Townsend, Allen Keefer, and Stan Wade. The Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge #192 and the Live Oak Masonic Lodge # 137.
Mr. Terrell was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bertha Norine and Phillip Preston Terrell; his brother, Phillip P. Terrell Jr.; a daughter, Tommie Lynn Terrell Lynch. He is survived by his devoted wife, Faye Love Terrell; Two daughters, Phyllis Terrell and Terri T. Parker (Robert); two granddaughters, Stephanie Yawn (Steven) and Asia Boyette (Cord); four great grandchildren, Korianne Alise Yawn, Kloie Adair Yawn, Katelynn Annabelle Yawn, and Cam Axel Boyette; a sister, Eloise Terrell Hulett; four sister in laws, Janel Harrison, Jeanette Love, Charlotte Peavey, and Betty Keefer (Allen). Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Terrell enjoyed walking in the woods and sitting down by a tree to observe all of God’s creations around him. He loved his family and had a special bond with each of them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. However, his family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
