Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Saint Simons Community Church on Saint Simons Island, Georgia. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service time 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at 4:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery in Waycross, Georgia.
Mr. Holland was a native of Bibb County, Georgia, but had been a resident of Glynn County for the past twelve years. Born August 17, 1944, Tom was the son of the late Thomas P. Holland, Sr. and the late Sara Corbin Holland. He graduated from Dublin High School and furthered his education at Georgia Southern, Georgia State, and graduation from Valdosta State with a BS in Accounting. Tom practiced public accounting in Perry, Georgia where he was very active as past treasurer of the Perry Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Perry Kiwanis Club, a past member of the American Institute of CPA’s and a past member of the Georgia Society of CPA’s. In his later career he entered the mobile home industry and retired as CFO for Scotbilt Homes in Waycross, GA. On February 13, 2012 ,he continued to consult for Scotbilt after retirement until December 31, 2014.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his grandparents Benjamin W. Holland and Mettie Giddens Holland, Clarence C. Corbin, and Annie Louise Brock Corbin Richards.
Surviving to remember Tom’s love and guidance is his wife Evelyn Grantham-Holland of St. Simons Island, GA; his two daughters, Tamara (John) Davidson and Cassandra(Carl) Dixon both of Perry, GA; his grandchildren, Megan Mattingly , Sara Bridges, and Hunter Belflower of Perry, GA; his great grandchild, Harli Kate Mattingly of Perry, GA; his three sisters, Pamela (Russell) Waters of Gray, GA, Susan (Don) Collins of Dublin, GA, and Wanda (Earl) Queen of Fort Valley, GA; his brother, Christopher (Beth) Holland of Savannah, GA; his brother-in-law, Bruce (Judy) Lingenfelter of Bickley, GA; and his father-in-law, Arthur Lingenfelter of Waycross, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Saint Simons Community Church.
