Tharion Pittman, 84, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, March 8, 2013 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Whitt Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery with Ronnie Pittman, Bobby “Bobcat” Pittman, Jim Lawrence, Ben Nelson, Josey Davis, and Don Peters serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Tom King and Ashford Pierce.
Born March 22, 1928 in Berrien County Georgia to the late Gilford and Georgie B. Pittman, he was a Veteran of The United States Army, and was a former manager for Friedman’s Jeweler. A resident of Glynn County for over 60 years, Mr. Pittman was also was the owner of several rental properties. He was a member of The Exchange Club, Ocean Lodge 214 F. & A.M., The Elks Club, and Norwich Baptist Church. He enjoyed dancing, fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. Pittman, a son, Glenn W. Pittman, four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his son Randy Pittman, Sr. of Brunswick, two grandchildren, Randy Pittman, Jr. and wife Christa of Brunswick, and Katlyn P. Williams and husband Chris of Richmond Hill, three great grandchildren, Randy Pittman III and Brycen Pittman and McKenzie Williams, two brothers, Ronnie Pittman and wife Lily Mae of Jacksonville and Bobby “Bobcat” Pittman and wife Mary Beth of Palatka, FL.
