Sarah Mae Brown Barnes Boardman, 78, of Brunswick passed away February 14, 2013 at her home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Palmetto Cemetery with Rev. Danny Webster and George Douglas officiating. Anthony Carlo, Matt Butler, Billy Stafford, Kenny Allard, Michael Howell, Carl Spofford , Jonathan Sparre and Steve Gamble will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 pm
Sarah was a lifelong resident of Brunswick. She graduated from Glynn Academy. She work as a manager for Ryan’s and Quincy’s steakhouses both in Lake City FL. Sarah was attended First Freewill Baptist Church and was well known throughout the community for her sour cream pound cakes. Many around the Brunswick area knew her as “Aunt Mae” and all who knew her loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Shauna Carlo.
Sarah is survived by her daughters Susan Stalvey ( Steve Carlo) of Brunswick, Robin Barnes of Brunswick and sons Bobby Barnes of Pasadena, TX and Jeremiah Boardman of Roanoke, VA, a step daughter Yvonne (Matt) Butler of Brunswick, two sisters Tenella Smith of Savannah, Faye Sparre of Brunswick and a bother Darwin Brown of Brunswick, three granddaughters Stephanie (Billy) Stafford of Kingsland, Brandy Minchew of Naples, FL and Rachel Barnes of Pasadena, TX, Three great grandchildren Anthony Carlo, Ethan Stafford and Cameron Chanclor. Sarah is also survived by the father of her children Robert D. Barnes and several nieces and nephews.
