Sallie Lee Martin

Sallie Lee Martin, 83, of Brunswick, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Lee and Rev. Greg Love officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with Marty Lee, Rusty Lee, Everett Lee, Ricky Lee, Joe Dixon and Brian Smith serving as pallbearers.

Born August 27, 1926 in Nahunta, Georgia to the late Johnny and Sallie Chesser Lee, she was a homemaker raising three children. A resident of Brunswick since 1945, Mrs. Martin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Joyful Seniors Sunday School Class. She also served on the Food and Fellowship Committee. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Charles Martin, brothers and sisters Wilber Lee, BT Lee, Dean Lee, Florence Herrin, Ward Lee and Jeannette Prescott.

Survivors include her sons, Lamar Gilbert Martin and wife Elizabeth of Tifton, Marion Charles Martin Jr. and wife Karen of Brunswick, a daughter, Barbara Martin Scott and husband Roy of Orange Park, FL, grandchildren, Kenneth Scott, Charles Scott, Matthew Martin, Elizabeth Martin, Heather Martin Ellis and Chris Martin, great grandchildren, Kaley Scott Lucas, Hannah Bean Scott, Joey Ann Scott, and Ansley Nicole Ellis, brothers, Eugene Lee and Marvin Lee both of Slaughterville, Earl Lee of Nahunta and Kenny Lee of Hortense, sisters Sandra Dixon of Waycross, Rosa Jenkins of Jacksonville, Vernon Carmichael of Lake City, FL and a sister in law, Louise Baker of Rincon, and many nieces and nephews.
