R.L. was born in Patterson, Georgia, the only child of John Leslie Hall and Edna Agnes Herrin Hall. He worked as a machinery supervisor at Brunswick Pulp and Paper for 35 years, retiring in 1997. R.L. loved the outdoors. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing various things around the house, traveling to the mountains with his wife, Doris, and salt-water fishing. He was known as a prankster and had a great sense of humor. Most of all, R.L. loved the Lord and spending time with his family. He was a long-time member of the Darien Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Jean Liles Hall, in 2003.
R.L. is survived by a son; Robert Leslie Hall, Jr. (Karen) of Hortense; a daughter, Crystal Hall Murray (Mike) of St. Simons Island; three grandsons, Robbie Hall (Nikki) and Les Hall (Shannon) of Hortense and Josh Murray (Kendra) of Fayetteville, NC; a granddaughter, Jordan Murray Cook (Tim) of Wilmington, NC; seven great granddaughters and two great grandsons also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26 at 11:00 am at the Darien Church of God with and his son-in-law, Pastor Mike Murray and Brother Tommy Whaley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Robbie Hall, Les Hall, Josh Murray, Tim Cook, AJ Crosby and James Lamb. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Marsha Certain and the staff of Hospice of the Golden Isles.
