Robert " Bobby" Adrian Thomas

Robert (Bobby) Adrian Thomas, 64, passed away on January 2, 2014 at his residence, under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles. He was born on April 14, 1949 to the late John and Lorraine Thomas and was a lifelong resident of Brunswick.

A graveside service with military honors is planned for Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Chapel Park Cemetery, 1180 Cate Rd, Brunswick with Pastor Aaron Gibson officiating The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 6-8 pm.

Bobby was a graduate of the Glynn Academy Class of 1967. He was later inducted into the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal Sharpshooter and Armed Forces Expedition Medal in Korea. Bobby was employed by Hercules of Brunswick for more than 30 years as a Maintenance Supervisor prior to his retirement on disability.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Richard Thomas.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Kathy Thomas, sons John Thomas (Traci) and Mike Thomas (Stacy), all of Brunswick, and two step-sons, Shawn Atwood of Chicago and Brian Atwood of Brunswick, grandchildren, Kayla Thomas, John Thomas, Isabella Thomas and Grace Atwood, his sister, Robin Hughes of New Mexico, his aunt, Sharon Robinson (Russ) of Jacksonville, as well as four nieces and two nephews.

Bobby was an avid fisherman who leaves behind many fond memories and will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.

The family has entrusted arrangements to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
