Born in Sunderland, England, on June 1, 1935 to the late Gerard Critchley and the late Gladys Hayes Critchley, she was a resident of Waynesville, GA since 1980. She worked at Shoney’s as a manger, Critch’s Men Shop, and Winn Dixie. Rita was a member of Waynesville Baptist Church and had served as secretary and treasurer and worked with the Church We Care ministry. Rita enjoyed sewing, going to yard sales and auctions. Rita leaves many fond memories that will be cherished by all.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Harper; son Phillip Harper; brothers George & Geoffrey Critchley and sister Joan Critchley. Survivors include Sons: Paul (Kim); Ricky (Colletta); Christopher (April) and Anthony (Amy); Daughter-in-Law Anita Harper; sister Pat Hein; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31st at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with funeral at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastors Joe Carr and Randy Wainright; burial will follow at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
The family greatly appreciates the love and care provided to her by the many caregivers that allowed her to stay at home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice.
