Raymond Lamar "Pic" Davis Jr.

Raymond Lamar “Pic” Davis Jr., age 64, of St. Simons Island, GA passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Southeast Georgia Health System. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Christ Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Adams, Taylor Adams, Johnny Adams, Richard Adams, Tommy Valente, Matthew Permar, and Steve Giordano. A reception will follow at the residence of Bobbie Davis, please join us for this celebration with refreshments and memory stories.

Lamar was born April 16, 1953 in Brunswick Georgia to the late Raymond Lamar “Racehorse” Davis, Sr., and Sibyl Parker Davis. He grew up on St. Simons Island and graduated from Glynn Academy High. He was employed with the Sea Island Company for 26 years. Lamar is known for his enthusiasm for life, his family, and friends. He enjoyed any activity that would put him near or on the water, including, kayaking, and fishing. He loved camping, tennis, and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his life companion, Pamela Lee Novielli, two sons, Lamar Adrian “Lad” Davis, and Jeremiah Michael Davis, a daughter, Jennifer Lauren Hunt (Jonathan Robert Hunt) , granddaughter, Rose Grace Hunt, sisters, Roberta “Bobbie” Davis (Mark Covington), Sylvia Ann Torbett, two nephews, Jason Scott Smith and Todd Zamborie Sumek, a niece, Kim Zamborie Sumek , a great niece Avery Elaine Smith, and several other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank their loved ones and his caregivers for the outpouring of love and kindness they have shown during this time.
