He was a native of Aline, Georgia, a former resident of Jesup for 29 years and a resident of Brunswick for the past 59 years. He was employed for B&W for 28 years, 10 months and 3 weeks. He was also employed with Local 865, Millwright for 12 years and also the Milton J. Wood Company.
He was a member of the Brunswick Masonic Lodge # 717, F.& A. M..
He loved fishing, fabricating metal objects and raising 5 children and loving Life in general,
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Madelyn V. Jackson Moxley, a grandson, Thomas Paul Owens, Parents, Horace and Geneva Byrd Moxley, and a son in Law, Johnny Lumley.
Survivors are a son, Ricky G. Moxley (Debbie) of Brunswick, four daughters, Wanda F. Moxley of Brunswick, Marilyn P. Lumley of Soperton, Ga., Carolyn E. Carter (Wyley), Debbie A. Owens (Edward) all of Brunswick, Grandchildren, Phillip Owens (Candace), Ryan Moxley, Kimberly Hanks (Dan), Maria Buchan off of Brunswick and Branda Carter (John) of Darien, Ga., step-grandchildren, Denise Peifer (Rob) of Dahlonega, Ga., Wiley Carter, Jr., Diane Turner (Justin) of Dahlonega, Ga., Bubba DeLoach all of Brunswick, and Stacey Gibbs (Jermyn) of Jesup, Ga., great grandchildren, Thomas A. Owens, Phillip Owens, Ryan Moxley, Amanda Carter, Maria Buchan, Brittany Gibbs, Kyler DeLoach, Trey and Maddie Hanks, Walker Moxley, Gabe and Zoey Carter, Two half brothers, Lynn Jeffers of Rincon, Ga., Eugene Jeffers of Riceboro, Ga., and a step brother, Roy Edenfield of Milledgeville, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM Friday from the Whitaker Hill Cemetery on Post Rd in Brantley, Ga. with Rev. Ricky Harris, Rev. George Moxley and Rev. Johnny Jones officiating.
Active pallbearers will be: Chris Lager, William Hale (B.J.),Wayne Hester, William Yogi Wooten, Dennis Varnadore, Wendell Harris and James Sailors Honorary pallbearers will be: Wayne Dowling, Jesse Thomas, Jack Leggett, Gene Duncan, Sr. and Staff of heartland Hospice.
