On Saturday, July 22, 2023, Nancy Ann Harrell, 88, of Brunswick, went peacefully home to be with Jesus. Nancy was to celebrate her 89th birthday this Wednesday, July 26th. Nancy passed surrounded by the love of her husband, children, family, and friends.
Nancy was born on July 26,1934 to Rudolph Gustavas Wohlgemuth and Rose Audrey Wohlgemuth (nee Williams). The family resided in Garden City, Michigan. She worked various jobs throughout her life including switchboard operator, bank teller and was ultimately promoted to the Trust Department. Nancy retired from 1st National Bank of Brunswick and Suntrust Bank.
Nancy lived a life devoted to God and Jesus as a devout Christian. She had a lifelong love of music and was a pianist and organist at several churches in the Brunswick area including; Blythe Island Baptist Church, Norwich Street Baptist Church, Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church, and Pine Ridge Baptist Church. At the time of her passing she was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Nancy volunteered her time visiting nursing homes to bring the joy of music to their residents. Throughout most of her life, she spent her free time knitting and crocheting; a love and passion she got from her mom.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Rose Wohlgemuth; sisters, Dolores Meyer and Judith Sanders; brothers, Kenneth Wohlgemuth, Gary Wohlgemuth, and Darryl Wohlgemuth; and son, Ronald Eric Webster.
She is survived by her husband, John Elliot Harrell; her brother, Gregory Wohlgemuth; her children, Kathryn K. Thompson, Sheryl N. Hale, Lowell Robert Webster, Paul L. Webster (Kimberly), and Russell G. Webster; grandchildren: Robert G. Webster, Jennifer K. Parshley, Heather A. Morales, Ross McFarland (Blythe), Krista A. Hale, Russell G. Webster (Amanda), Brian J. Webster, Joshua A. Webster, Katelyn M.Emerick (Christopher), Megan T. Webster, Devan S. Webster, and Aaron I. Hale; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Nancy will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 43 years, her family, and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 6-8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., Brunswick, GA with Funeral on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 12:00 pm in the Chapel at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Coastal Hospice for the loving care they provided to our mother.
Although Nancy loved flowers, instead of flowers, donations to remember Nancy can be made to Coastal Hospice of Brunswick, Ga. should friends desire.
