Marilyn was born June 3, 1946 in Jesup, GA, to the late Dorothy Johnson Patrick, and the late Thomas Mobley Patrick. She graduated Glynn Academy 1964, marrying the love of her life Jimmie Copeland in 1965. Marilyn and Jimmie had been a resident of Savannah since 1993. Marilyn loved foster parenting, providing care for over 60 children. She loved crocheting and providing care for her family. She leaves many fond memories that will be cherished by all.
In addition to Marilyn’s parents she is preceded in death by brother Thomas Mobley Patrick, Jr. and her granddaughter Christina Marie Copeland.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 54 years Jimmie Copeland; daughter Patricia Glover (husband Stephen) of Savannah, GA; three sons Jimmie Allen Copeland, Jr. (wife Donna) of Brunswick, GA, Steven Copeland, and Thomas S. Copeland both of Savannah GA; daughter Alliyal Copeland of Savannah, GA; bother Johnson Dale “Johnny ” Patrick of Brunswick, GA; three grandsons David, Kaleb, and Jeffrey Copeland all of Brunswick, GA; Marilyn is also survived by several other extended family members.
Family will receive friends 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., in Brunswick.
A funeral service is to be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons
Funeral. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Corinth Cemetery in Baxley, GA.
