Linda Gail Purvis Faulkner, age 60, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Gail was born in Douglas, Georgia, but was raised in Glynn County. She lived in Brantley County for the last 20 years where she enjoyed working as a clerk at several convenience stores prior to moving back to Brunswick last year. Gail came from a very large family (she would boast that she was the 53rd grandchild on her mother’s side) was a true people person and had many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Day Purvis.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Faulkner of Brunswick; a daughter, Lori Blocker (Chris) of Waynesville; two sons, Tommy Eades and Richard Roland (Amanda), both of Brunswick; a step daughter, Ashley Nicole Winkelmann (Brett) of Chesapeake, Virginia; 8 grandchildren, Calli Bullard, Brooke Eades, Will Eades, Marymarie Autry, Jacob Eades, Peytan Winkelmann, Cassidy Sellers and Parker Winkelmann; her parents, T.M. and Cora Lee Purvis of Brunswick; three sisters, Patricia Richardson of Brunswick, Frances Davis of Brantley County and Vikki Peete of Brantley County. Several other family members including nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Chuck Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Chris Blocker, Carroll Causey, Chris Coger, Chad Pensyl, Don Smith and Brett Winkelmann.
