Katie Smith Lowe

Mrs. Lowe is originally, a resident of Atlanta, Ga., later Elberton, Ga., and Brunswick, Ga. She resided in Baptist Village in Waycross for a number of years. Mrs. Lowe is the daughter of the late M.V. and Lucy Smith. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Waycross, Ga. and long -time member of the First Baptist Church, Brunswick, Ga. where she was active in Sunday School and other organizations. Mrs. Lowe retired from the Glynn County School System as a secretary at Sidney Lanier School.

In addition to Mrs. Lowe’s parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Jack Lowe.

She is survived by her daughter and son- in – law, Jackie and Buddy, of Waycross, Ga; son Jerry and Joanne of Santa Rosa Beach, FL.; a grandson David E. Ponsell, III and wife Michelle of Warner Robbins, Ga; three nephews Marty Smith, David Smith, and Wilbur Redd and Family.

Funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, the 2nd of April 2015 , with family receiving friends one hour prior of service ( 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.) , in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., Brunswick, GA., with Reverend Jim Crandall officiating. Interment will follow the service at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the church family and friends for the prayers and support during this time. A special thank you is extended to the staff and nurses at Baptist Village for their special care and kindness to her and her family.
