Karen was born in Dalton, Georgia, to parents Kenneth and Dorothy Adams Skipper. She worked for 26 years for the Georgia Department of Corrections as a counselor while working to obtain her master’s degree. After retirement, Karen went to work as a Professor of Psychology at Troy University. She enjoyed fishing and painting, especially seascapes.
In addition to her parents, a stepson, Robert Lincoln Anderson III preceded her in death.
Karen is survived by her husband of 19 years, Robert “Bob” Lincoln Anderson; two daughters, Christine Elaine Hill-Street (Tony) and Katie LeAnne Sullivan (Ryan); three grandchildren, Noah, Pamela and Brittany; six sisters, Kendra Blankenship, Nanette Manning Brawley (Don), Mary Ellen Larson, Lori Outlaw, Joeanne Allen and Alice Varnum; a brother, Kenny Skipper (Sandi) and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 am at Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Roger Callaway, Bo Clark, Ken Lemmond, Joshua Lewis, Freddie Peacock and Tim Short.
