Joy Stokes, age 69, of Waynesville, died Monday, March 10, 2014. Joy was a native of Portland, Indiana but had lived in Brantley County since 1986. She was an accomplished artist and taught art all over the United States, especially in the Mid-West. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin C. Stokes, Jr. and her son, Thomas Roland Stokes.
She is survived by her son, Scott Stokes of Waynesville; three sisters, Judy Magnus (David) of Brunswick, Janice Stokes of Cumming and Jane Grebe of Cumming; four grandchildren, Miranda Turman of Brunswick, Bandon Stokes of Hortense, Jacob Stokes of Hortense and Dustin Rhoden of Nahunta and two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Gabriel Turman of Brunswick.
A private family service is planned.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
