She was born on August 23, 1928 in Hazlehurst, Ga to Lovett McDaniel and Nancy Griffin Harrell.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 5 brothers, and son-in-law, Bill Alford.
She is survived by her two loving daughters: Nancy Alford of Darien and Sharon Gibson (Tom) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, 3 Grandchildren: Ashton Alford (Tammy), Niki Alford (Hunter) and Kyle Gibson, 3 Great-Grandchildren: Justin Alford, Bill Griffin and Mary Barnes, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren: Fisher, Finley and John, and a sister, Mary Evans of Macon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was a graduate of Hazlehurst High School class of 1945. She then married and moved to McIntosh County in 1956 where she became a member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Eastern Star. Over the years she was a home maker, bookkeeper, caterer and a travel agent. She loved to cook, especially baking, grow flowers and spend time with her family. She was affectionately known as Nena.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, October 24 at the First Baptist Church in Darien with Rev. Jack Peeler officiating, followed by burial at St. Andrews Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
The family will receive friends at the home of Nancy Alford in Darien.
