James Matthew (Mack) Sullivan, 65, of Saint Simons Island, died on March 7th, 2022. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15th, 10:00 am at Edo Miller & Sons. Reverend Dr. Felix Hanes, Jr. will be officiating the service at 11:00 am. A private interment will follow at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sullivan was born October 4th, 1956 in Brunswick, Georgia to Donald Kimbrough Sullivan and Flo Reta Sullivan. He graduated from Glynn Academy in 1974 then attended the University of Georgia and earned a B.S. in Business Management from San Francisco State University. He began his career with I.B.M. and then worked for several high-tech companies. Upon his return to Saint Simons Island, he authored two children’s books, founded Due South Publishing Inc., and currently worked for DeLoach Sotheby’s International Realty. He was a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, a member of Rotary International, an involved parent at Saint Simons Elementary, and coached local youth basketball. His children and family brought him his greatest joy in life. He was preceded in death by his father, LCDR (Ret.) Donald Kimbrough Sullivan.
Survivors include his children, Amelia and Gavin Sullivan, his mother, Flo Reta Sullivan, all of Saint Simons Isl., brother, Charles Sullivan and sister, Lisa Hamann, two nieces, Tracy and Isabel, and nephew Kyle.
