James Baxter Blount, Jr. 87, was called to his heavenly resting place on Thursday December 4, 2014 at 12:55 pm at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. He was born in Glynn County, Georgia on April 28, 1927 to the late Mr. and Mrs. James Baxter Blount, Senior. I n 1947; he united in matrimony to the late Annie Belle Howington. Within this union, they were blessed with six children.
James Blount, Jr. was a product of the Glynn County school system. Additionally, he served his country proudly in both World War II and the Korean War, serving in both the Army and Air Force.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Deborah Marose (James), Beverly Lewis; three sons, James B. Blount, III (Barbara); Ronald Blount (Melanie); Joseph Blount. James has twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to James’s parents he is preceded in death by his wife Annie H. Blount and son David Blount.
Visitation will be held Sunday December 7, 2014, from 4 pm – 6 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 11 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2014 with Pastor John Williams presiding. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, GA., with military honors.
Serving active pallbearers are, Furman Johnson, Shawn Davies, Jerome Grant, Leonard Holton, Jeremiah Woodard, and Ralph Johnson.
