Jack was born on September 10, 1954, a native of Gideon Missouri and the son of Ilene and Roy Boyet. Jack’s police career began at New Madrid’s Sheriff’s Department, where he met his wife, Ramona Hanna. They moved to Brunswick in 1978, where he continued his law enforcement career with the Glynn County Police Department. He currently held the position of Captain of the Patrol Division. His accomplishments include 31 years of dedicated service, graduate of the FBI national Academy, 1998 Distinguished Service Medal and the 1999 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.
He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and friend.
Survivors include s his devoted wife, Ramona Hanna Boyet of Brunswick, his mother, Ilene Boyet of Gideon, MO., his daughter, Tara Rocha (Todd) of Brunswick, his son, Jason Boyet (Emily) of Covington, LA., grandchildren, Evan and Emily Rocha and Karsen Boyet, his brother, Gary Rhine (Linda) of Malden, MO., a sister, Shirley Cossey (Kenny) of Gideon, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 O’Clock Friday 5/21/10 in the Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick with Rev. Randy Lamb, Rev. Abe Brown and Rev. Tim Brown officiating. At the family’s and Jack’s request cremation will follow the services.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Thursday night.
The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Glynn County Fraternal Order of Police.
