Our beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, cousin and dear friend passed from this life on 13 October 2015 unexpectantly, born 24 July 1992 in Glynn County to Samuel and Linda Willis, becoming their third handsome son after brothers Levi (Jessica) and Christian (Kristy). He was the final link to a beautiful family circle until his buddy Gabriel (Gabby) Frankenstein Willis joined in for the last ten years. He is also survived by a large extended family who loved him very much.
At the innocent age of four, Grayson was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The disease became devastating as the years passed by. Remarkably our littlest man demonstrated to all how much metal he had in his body, mind, and soul. As the disease took away, he was not deterred. He would find a way to compensate and continue to thrive as a young man and student.
His early desire was to just be like all the other little boys in the neighborhood. His dad was lucky enough to coach him in his Little League Baseball years. Never to be outdone, he jumped the skate board ramps with his friends, using his wheel chair as his jump vehicle. He used his wheel chair again for a school talent show to demonstrate “Wheelies”. He also enjoyed go-carts, his first bicycle, and even kayaking. At fifteen he soared to over two thousand feet with a buddy to “Hang Glide” in that rarified air, jet pilots talk so much about. He was voted into his elementary school council, and was the 2011 Brunswick High Homecoming King.
His loves included family gatherings, friends, traveling all over the eastern United States and the Caribbean Islands, and last but not least being a studious Tech Geek. He always amazed others with his mental powers. He completed Brunswick High School graduating around eighteen down from the top of near four hundred students with a 3.8 GPA. He continued those grades into his second year at Savannah School of Arts and Design (SCAD).
He’ll be missed by all and the world has lost a precious soul. Son I hope you’re enjoying your new body in Heaven…
A memorial visitation and viewing Grayson in photos will be observed Saturday evening at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home from 5 to 8 P.M. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to honor his life’s legacy.
