Gerald was born in Sayre, Oklahoma, to parents Rosevelt Williams and Opal Lee Hemby Williams. He worked at Wonder Bread as a sanitation supervisor for 18 years then went to work for himself in the concrete business. He and his wife, Kathy, raised three boys prior to moving to the Golden Isles in 2003. Gerald would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and was a man of his word. He loved fishing and listening to old time music. Once grandchildren came along, he loved spending time with them and would host tea parties and treasure hunting escapades. He was a wonder husband, father, father-in-law and Papa. He will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Hawkins and a grandson, Ellis Ray Starling, Jr.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Kathy Marie Williams; three sons, Steven Wayne Williams (Crystal) of Daphne, AL, Danny Ray Williams (Birgid) of Brunswick and Dennis Lee Williams of Spanish Fort, AL; nine grandchildren, Heather Nicole Arias (Edher) of Woodstock, IL, Anthony Wayne Ham (Jennifer) of Spanish Fort, Justin Lee Williams (Hanna) of Brantley County, Kimberly Marie Taylor (Steve) of Mount Pleasant, GA, Daniel Dewayne Williams of Brunswick, Jennifer Lee Stone (Tim) of Lakeland, GA, David Wayne Starling (Katrina) of Darien, Brandon Lee Williams (Courtney) of Dallas, PA and Melissa Kay Miles (Jeffrey) of Fairhope, AL; twelve great-grandchildren and a sister, Linda Weibe of Yukon, OK.
