Gerald Duane Ledford, 72, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in Brunswick after an extended illness. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 9, 2010 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Born September 30, 1937 in Charleston, SC to the late Donald Duane and Josephine Blocker Ledford, he was a conductor with CSX Railroad for 47 years. Mr. Ledford was a member of Central Baptist Church in Waycross. He enjoyed collecting railroad memorabilia and entertaining his grandchildren. In a addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Duane “Binky” Ledford Jr. and Jason Ledford, brothers, David “PeeWee” Ledford, Johnny Ledford and Jason Ledford.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Debbie W. Ledford of Brunswick, daughters, Lisa Smart and husband Jim of Fleming Island, FL and Lori Pfaff and husband John of Waycross, a step son Dustin Brown of Waycross and a step daughter Angela Smith and husband Trek of Brunswick, grandchildren, Taylor Ann Smart, Lauren Smart, Kaleigh Pfaff, MacKenzie Pfaff, Cierra Pfaff, Jake Pfaff, Ella Pfaff, Averleigh Smith, a sister, Betty Ann Metts, six brothers, Donald Ledford, Reggie Ledford, Doug Ledford, Paul Ledford, Mark Ledford, Junior King, several nieces and nephews.
